A proud moment for Indian para sport
India's Commonwealth Games medal winners, including the para athletics champions, were received by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 10 August 2026. Earlier, the contingent was felicitated by Union Minister of State Shri B.L. Verma, with Gujarat Chairman Mr. Eluri Sreedhar in attendance.

About the Paralympic Movement in Gujarat
The Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) is the apex body for para sport in the country, affiliated to the International Paralympic Committee and recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as a National Sports Federation. It works through 26 state associations, including this Chapter for Gujarat.
Under Chairman Mr. Eluri Sreedhar, the Para Sports Association of Gujarat, presented here as the PCI Gujarat Chapter, identifies and registers athletes, organises classification and state championships, selects Gujarat teams for national events, and supports the state's athletes on the road to the Asian Para Games and the Paralympics.
