Gujarat finishes third at the 24th National Para Athletics Championships
Gujarat's para athletes brought home 30 medals: 14 gold, 11 silver and 5 bronze, finishing on the podium behind Haryana and Tamil Nadu.
Gujarat finished third in the overall medal tally at the 24th National Para Athletics Championships held at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar from 19 to 21 March 2026, with 30 medals: 14 gold, 11 silver and 5 bronze. Haryana topped the table and Tamil Nadu finished second, in a championship that drew around 1,460 para athletes from 28 states.
Among the standout performances, Damor Tejalben Amaraji won gold in the women's long jump (T11–T12) with a leap of 4.95 m, and Bhatt Rakeshbhai took gold in the men's 200 m (T37) in 24.25 seconds. Manav Prajapati added a silver in the men's discus throw (F37).
